Publick Playhouse
The Publick Playhouse is a performing facility of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation, Arts and Cultural Heritage Division. It is a historic area venue dating to 1947 that was designed by John Eberson, the architect who first created "atmospheric theatre." Renovated again in 2007, the Playhouse retains its original art deco dér and is renowned for superior acoustics. Participation in CultureCapital is provided by a partnership between the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington and the M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation.
