D.C. Public Library Fab Lab workshop instructor Molly Stratton will guide participants through the basics of using a sewing machine. Inspired by special exhibition Rodarte, and created for absolute beginners, this class will teach you how to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, and sew a straight line. Materials, instruction, and inspiration will be provided. Reservations required. About the Exhibition: Through a selection of looks, this exhibition offers an overview of the first thirteen years of the work of sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy—the duo behind the American fashion label Rodarte—through the lens of contemporary art and fashion.
