Over 30,000 artworks created in camps and ghettos during the Holocaust have been documented since 1945, and this exhibit will feature reproductions from 11 artists. All works were created in six different locations including Auschwitz, Ravensburk, Gurs, Compiogn, Terezin, Warsaw ghetto, Vilnus ghetto, and Dachau. Through a phenomenological inquiry into the experience of creating art during the Holocaust, doctoral student Elizabeth Hlavek curated this exhibition exploring themes of witnessing, identity, affirmation of existence, comfort, resiliency, and hope. Reproduction and exhibit rights thanks to: The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, The Ghetto Fighter's museum, Yad Vashem, Bet Terezin, and The Vilna Jewish Historical museum.
