Lithuanian artist Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė is known in the art world for her focus on “the gap between objective and imagined realities in a manner that cuts through anthropocentric ways of thinking,” writes critic Kaleem Aftab. Beautiful, odd, and mesmerizing, Acid Forest — largely achieved through complex aerial shots from a bird’s perspective within a now treeless national park in Lithuania — eavesdrops on tourists’ reactions to the obvious devastation before them.
