Join Washington Performing Arts and DowntownDC for the kick-off event in the weekly DowntownDC Live outdoor concert series. Brazilian singer-songwriter Cissa Paz has made a name for herself in Washington, D.C. as an eclectic performer influenced by the local jazz sounds and her Brazilian, African, and Indigenous background. Nominated for 3 WAMMIES, Paz was born in Belgium and raised in Rio de Janeiro. She has released multiple albums and performs in Portuguese, Portuguese Creole, Spanish, French, and English. Cissa Paz's band is joined by special guest JP Silva, a versatile multi-instrumentalist and singer from Brazil.
