Presenting a premiere alongside a little-seen repertory work, PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER returns to Dance Place for an evening of rare delights. In the premiere of The Sky is Falling, The Sky is Falling (Part 1), the company investigates and questions the moments where we’ve lost our way, stepped outside our comfort zones, and found a new way of being as a result. Co-Directors Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig also remount their 2013 work Take Me With You, including rich humor, unanswerable questions, and a bright, blue inflatable shark. Originally created in collaboration with Raja Feather Kelly and Connor Voss, this award-winning trio is a dance / spoken word poem set to a stunning original score by composer Michael Wall. Whether you follow to Freudian or Jungian school of iconography, this image-rich work explores impending loss in the midst of longing for the Beloved.
