Richard Ford is the recipient of the 2019 Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction. He is the author of the “Bascombe” novels, which include “The Sportswriter” and its sequels, “Independence Day” (the first novel to win the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award), “The Lay of the Land” and New York Times best-seller “Let Me Be Frank With You: A Frank Bascombe Book” (Ecco). His other works include the best-selling novel “Canada” and the short story collections “Rock Springs” and “A Multitude of Sins,” which contain many widely anthologized stories. His memoir is “Between Them: Remembering My Parents.”
