For its second Garden Concert Series event, The Korea Cultural Center Washington, D.C. welcomes The Tune, an innovative ensemble that combines Korea nomadic music traditions with modern digital music-making techniques. Traditional, primitive and ancient things are exposed in the music of The Tune, as a Korean sense of emotion and breath create a new musical genre combining jazz, contemporary, and nomadic music influences.

Rooted deeply in Korean traditional music with a nomadic tone, The Tune is famous in Korea for its experimental music, including winning the Grand Prize for Sound Frontier at the Jeonju Int’l Sori Festival in 2014. Established in 2013, the group is comprised of female musicians each with different instrumental and musical specialties such as traditional percussion, haegeum, synthesizer, vocals, piri, and taepyeongso.
