Join Ron Charles, book critic at The Washington Post, for an in-depth discussion with acclaimed poet Willie Perdormo. The Life of a Poet series offers a rare opportunity to consider a writer’s entire career and explore the major events that have shaped their work. Readings from the work are interspersed throughout the conversation. A book signing will follow. 

Willie Perdomo is the author of The Crazy Bunch, The Essential Hits of Shorty Bon Bon, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, Smoking Lovely, winner of the PEN Open Book Award; and Where a Nickel Costs a Dime, a finalist for the Poetry Society of America Norma Farber First Book Award.His work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Poetry, The Best American Poetry 2019, and African Voices. He teaches at Phillips Exeter Academy.

The Crazy Bunch was recently named one of New York Public Library’s Best Book of 2019.
