This Washington, DC-based contemporary classical ensemble is dedicated to commissioning and performing new works by underrepresented women, LGBTQ+, and minority composers, as well as composers with connections to the DC area. Education is an important aspect of Balance Campaign’s work. The ensemble has an ongoing relationship with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County as its Ensemble-in-Residence with the Composition Department. They work closely with student composers, workshopping and recording their work, performing concerts for the school community, and debuting graduating students’ compositions.
