Lessons in Realistic Watercolor: Still Life
In this 6-week workshop, students will paint along with award-winning watercolor painter Matthew Bird, as he demonstrates his painting process from start to finish. Each prerecorded lesson will include methods and demonstrations that students can practice, followed by a scheduled live meeting via zoom to review, critique and discuss the week's work. Open to all levels, designed for intermediate to advanced. Students will have access to a 60-minute, prerecorded lesson each week accompanied by a synchronous zoom meeting. The class starts at 8 PM where students connect on progress, receive feedback and share their work as a community. Mathew Bird will be available for video conferencing at 7:30 PM for office hours prior to the 8 PM class start time.
Matthew Bird's work appears in permanent museum collections as well as numerous private collections. Matthew is the vice president of the National Watercolor Society, and his award-winning watercolor paintings have been exhibited in juried shows across North America, China, Greece, Hong Kong, and Italy. “Lessons in Realistic Watercolor: Still Life,” will be held on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm - 9 pm from October 7 through November 11.
