A hands-on course exploring all the elements of creating a successful cabaret act. The grand finale is a virtual showcase featuring individual mini-sets developed over the course of the class. Topics include: choosing material that’s right for you, song performance, what is patter and how to write it, designing your cabaret, and marketing your act. Students have the option of finding accompaniment tracks for their songs or using recorded piano accompaniments provided by The Theatre Lab (at no charge). Prerequisite: Previous experience as a solo vocalist. Come to the first class with two prepared songs to be sung a cappella or with a recorded accompaniment.
