Across centuries and cultures, women artists have incorporated images of food into their work as a celebration of identity and healing. Others, however, depict food to reference the traditional confinement of women to the kitchen or the prison of imposed gender norms. This exhibition of artists’ books, graphic novels and zines presents a spectrum of food imagery, from Colette Fu’s pop-up book celebrating ethnic Chinese identity to Wewer Keohane’s apple-shaped commentary on the story of Adam and Eve.
