National Cherry Blossom Festival: March 20 - April 14, 2019
The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. Spanning nearly four weeks the festival includes parades, fireworks and performances honoring the lasting friendship between the US and Japan. Events include the Cherry Blossom Parade, Kite Festival, The Sakura Taiko Takeover at the Tidal Basin, and Petalpalozza.

Sat. Mar 30 Bring your own kites or children can make a kite at an activity station (while supplies last) to fly on the Public Field. Kites will also be available for purchase onsite.
