Fort Washington

Built to defend the river approach to Washington, DC, Fort Washington has stood as silent sentry for over 200 years. As technologies advanced so did Fort Washington, from the brick and stone of the 19th century to the concrete and steel of the 20th century.
Hours
The Visitor Center and Historic Fort are open daily.

The first Sunday in April through the last Saturday in October the buildings are open 9:00-5:00. The rest of the year they close at 4:00

The park grounds are open 8:00-sunset at all times.

Closed January 1, Thanksgiving, and December 25
